My extended abstract entitled “Platforms at the Peripheries” that I submitted to the Digital Games Research Association’s (DiGRA) 2020 conference is now available via their proceedings.
I wrote this around a year ago when the world looked pretty different, but it still encompasses a lot of what I’m exploring in my research. I’m excited to share more about the project as it progresses,.
Hello, my name is jacob Rogers and I am a current junior at colorado college I struggled to find a major but somehow I found my way to the sociology department and have not left. I am considering writing my thesis on video games as it is a large part of my life and has helped me understand myself and others further. I was ecstatic to find your blog with such recent updates as it showed me there is sociological work to be done involving video games, I would love to hear more about your work and the research being done within the discipline around video games.
Thank you,
jacob
Hi Jacob, glad to hear you’re interested in sociology and video games. Happy to talk about the field, what works being done, and your interests as well. Feel free to email me at larsoni@uci.edu and we can set up a time to talk.
